I actually have a poison necro wt I started but have not posted yet, how did you get through nightmare on p8 with poison nova and average gear? im about at that level now and could use some advice.

Patience. Sometimes you need 100 novas to kill something. If your merc has insight, you are good to go. For bosses or champ pack put some CB on your merc( I used strenght RW) and get ready to drink 20-30 mana potions :). I also had like 5 hardpoints in lower res

Edit: mostly I just skipped the possessed monsters of a champion pack, they are nearly not possible to kill :). I also skipped the poison immunies, too. My merc had low gear, it took a lot of time to kill them. +for bosses use decrep. Also you can use CE with lower res, it works pretty fine- I realized this only in hell.
