i dont think hes suggesting actual statistical streaks. He just means that sometimes it seems like good items come in loads then long streaks of nothing.

This is mostly semantics. The definition of a streak is a sequence of similar outcomes. There are streaks. If there were not then the system would not be random - it would be evenly homogenized. There is a story about a WWII crypto office (on the Axis side, I think) where computers (people) generated one time pads using what was really just a big bingo-style pull-a-ball-out of a hat. Some of the people observed streaks in the randomly generated data and decided to re-roll, assuming that the data wouldn't look random enough for their supervisors. This loss of entropy actually helped the allied forces break those messages.


The streaks will also start and stop randomly however, so it is true that one cannot truly ride them. I'll agree there 100%

But, is is also contingent upon a perfect PRNG, which does not exist. So if there are flaws in the PRNG, then the ability to ride a streak is contingent upon those. That advantage is probably tiny. But, hoping that it exists makes the game more fun for me, and drives me to do more runs when good stuff seems to be dropping.

ilvl = 1. That is, regardless of what the ilvl was beforehand, it will be set to 1.

At what level did u kill baal on normal? I just got to act 5 on my hc single player hdin but since its my 1st HC char ever (battlenet and single player) I dont know when I will be ready to face him.

Yup, and ilvl 1 = 3 sockets max. So 50% chance to cube socket 3os, or 100% to get 3 w/ larzuk. I may make a duress if I can roll an OK 3os armor. I have enough Lems now and a Pul to get there.

I really, really, really don't want to cube Lems (until I have at least 12 set aside). I like gold find barbs, and recreating mine off-realm is a side project. It is so much fun to see 110K piles of gold drop.

My wife prefers the term "Zombie". And seriously, I do have a problem. Another reason I'm posting and not playing is that I was so tired & run down after those marathon days that it was too risky to play HC.

Consider what is more likely:
A. I've had a great run and want to share with people who understand the game.

B. I'm a troll who spends his days photoshopping or hero-editing hundreds of items and screenshots, item level and all, to make a barely believable run, knowing full well it would end up alienating those few people who share my favorite pastime.

I've actually held back on posting some lucky crafts and drops at this point, especially if they won't factor into my gear. That's the real reason batch 2 of blood rings wasn't posted. That and I must have hit the wrong key when trying to screenshot the blood-ring stash page

Anyway, I'm not trying to convince you. Rather I'm just putting my side out there for other readers. Good luck on your walk too!

Socket recipes for normal quality socketables use a base of 6, like a regular dice.

When 3 sockets is the maximum, the chance to get 3 sockets (rolling 3 or higher) is 4:6 (~ 66.6%).

With a base of 6, this is true. For some reason I thought the base was limited to the max that the item type can have, but what I thought is NOT what arreat summit says. Thanks for the correction. It increases the odds that I'll cube the armor when I do find it

I believe its legit... before 1.13 I had never seen a hr drop... in 1.13 I had a cham and ber and I have only made like 100-200 runs max... (ofc I was pretty lucky but that doesnt change the fact that the runes drop rate has been increased)
Its a great run imo... inspired me to start HC too
