I was pretty sure I wanted to go FA/Max Valk but this fight made me question it... It took a pretty long time and this is only NM...

Less scary with FA, still, one slip-up could spell disaster vs this pack.


Stats going into Diablo. I stopped statting dex because it seems pretty certain that I'll either go FA/Valk or FA/Immo at this point.

Valk did a great job again. Only the firestorm attack could kill her.

Going to run NM CS for experience until 65+... In the mean time, I'd really like to hear all opinions on FA/Immo build vs FA/Max Valk build... Would either be enough? Keep in mind that Valk will only get a Lance and not a War Pike in classic.

That's with level 8 (after items) valk and only 1 in every passive though.

Lord de seis was already cold/fire immune in NM. I think like said before, u would run into too many of that combo and then what would u do???

If U could get past the dual immunes with FA/IMM some how, I would think go with that...

I'm pretty sure the high councils are mostly fire/cold immunes, right?

Maxing valk could be helpful as defense as well, not just offensive...

Check the jsp guide in Classic subforum. Thats what i used when i attempted to complete what you're trying to do (and failed miserably).

Either way, from personal experience: valk will not give you enough damage to be sustainable. She will die before she can "return the damage output". Meaning, after you reach act 2 hell, you would just be stuck at going to town, getting more pots, to summon more valks, all the while monsters remaining with 100% health.

FA/Immo with valk support --> your best bet. Keep some cb% equipment and 6 socketed pemerald bow so you can at least deal with fire/cold immunes --> will take you 30 minutes to kill 1 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If you ever find a decently gothic bow. Use it and switch to strafe/FA --> mana leech is GG with strafe.

All in all. since you are now done with NM. go farm normal diablo to get some basic gear (sigons, tarnhelm, silks, rattle, etc)

As mentioned in the Magezon guide in classic subforums, be very careful with your resistances, go slowly!

i agree even max valk might not be enough dmg.

i would think using your -res bow for most packs with a strong FA then try and get a bow for strafe to handle immunes. gothic is the best but a large siege bow or rune bow could also pack a punch. even short siege is over 20 ave dmg.

tbh i didnt even think about lance being valks last wep upgrade before!

tancreds set was a clutch find for sure!

tarnhelm and silks would give a slick dmg boost as well

Probably level 8 valk, decoy to tank, and that open wounds plate mail + emerald bow vs dual immune that I can’t just skip 🤷‍♂️




TYVM for the advice. I would prefer FA/Strafe but I also find it hard to imagine that I could ever find good enough gear for it... the bow alone seems impossible to find even in years of time haha... so I’ll probably go with fa/immo/lvl 8 valk and just hope it works... if not I’ll have one more restat tontry fa/max valk or to wait until I find a good gothic, if ever!




I don’t think I’ll find a bow good enough for strafe tbh. Hopefully I can get through with immo arrow and a half ass valk
