Meph was the easiest boss so far in NM. Valk tanked famously!

Me celebrating

It ranges from -20 to -35 enemy cold resist

Here are my stats beginning act 4 NM (actually I have 50 CR less than this, CR is still buffed from Thawing potions). I'm starting right now and hope to finish tonight! I should also mention that I've read that the attack rating % bonus on Freezing Arrow is bugged, so actually I just have normal attack AR with Freezing Arrow :/

Thanks! Also, I have a question for anyone experienced with zons...

My plan was to go Freezing Arrow/Strafe, but for Strafe to be relevant at all I'm going to need a fairly nice Gothic Bow, which could take ages to find... My other option would be to go pure Freezing Arrow and max Valk for immunes. This would allow me to complete the walk a lot quicker (if I don't die..) But is a level 20-23 Valk going to be good enough to take out impassable cold immunes, especially in packs (remember, in classic they only get up to a Lance as a weapon, no War Pike at level 17!)? The alternative is probably Strafe with a 100%ish ED Gothic Bow... So I'm not sure which one would be better. Also if I go pure FA, I can max out vitality and be a lot safer.

I could also look at FA/Immo arrow as an option... But that'd mean a weaker Valk/passives in general and I've seen a lot of people talk down on Immo arrow, maybe it's not too good?

So, would maxed Valk be enough for CIs in classic?

Unless its synergized, immolation is not real strong. I'd go with valk over immolation. There are more fire/cold immune combos than cold/phys (stone skin cold immune shit)

I would start Hell with a 450~ damage Immo, and end with an 850~ damage Immo. Including arrow pierce, would Valk really take down groups faster than that? I'm worried about cold damage/curses on Valk  Still, I guess Valk would always be better vs a single target.
