Thanks! I'm trying out Pits runs right now too because Andy was taking so long. The character is definitely better suited to area runs over boss runs. Might just stick to Pits for a bit, we will see!

For anyone who is interested, I believe that I have more or less decided on my end-game gear for this build. I decided to main Beast as weapon to stick to my core as a summoner.
I haven't decided on sockets yet and also can't decide on merc setup, so suggestions would be helpful there! I suppose if I can find a Cham for the Jalal's then that would be the best socket so I could use 2x SoJ.

I'm posting this mostly to get some feedback because I have never made this type of character before and i'm not sure if I am missing anything crucial. Please let me know any changes you would make and why!

Helmet: Jalal's (1os)
Weapon: Beast Caduceus (8 FPA Fire Claws, will keep a Shaeled weapon in stash for 4 FPA Fire Claws if it is ever needed)
Armor: CoH Dusk Shroud
Shield: Stormshield (1os)
Ring 1: Raven Frost
Ring 2: SoJ
Amulet: Mara's
Boots: Gore Riders (only once gear is fully complete for extra CB vs bosses... will use War Travs during the MFing phase)
Gloves: Magefist
Belt: Arachnid Mesh
Swap: cta/spirit monarch
Charms: as many summon GCs as I can find, and some shapeshift GCs until my Fire Claws is viable vs pi

Have not decided yet on Reaper's merc setup vs Infinity merc setup. Obviously a Reaper's merc would be highly preferred especially in HC, but one of my goals was to have a strong enough Fire Claws to take out most/all physical immunes and I'm not sure if I'll need Infinity or not to achieve that goal, time will tell. If I did go with the Infinity merc then Hobbes will need a total of 4 Bers to be completed which sounds painful to me.

You'll probably find 15x TO belt before 1 cham or arach drop

I have never found arach to be that rare! I don't really expect to get a cham for the jalal's, that would be basically a final goal as icing on the cake.

Hello! It's been a couple weeks since my last update, I started a Super Mario 64 run through with my house mate and we just finished collecting all the stars so back to D2 :thumbsup:

I've had somewhat of a lack of real direction since hitting Hell. I got too used to the short & rewarding NM Meph runs, so long runs with lower drop rates were a little hard to get accustomed to again. Anyways, this update is going to be all over the place, but I've found my direction now at least :)

I got bored of Andy runs pretty quick, they were too slow! I moved on to Pits for a few and found this, my new best charm.


I then got bored of the Pits after one night as well. Didn't find anything else good. At this point I figured that I hadn't had too much trouble in Hell so far, so I would try to move forward until I hit a wall. Radament wasn't bad at all!


These guys scared me a bit, but it was alright!

It's becoming pretty slow-going. The monsters are all so scary!


It was at this point that I started to feel like I may not belong in A2 Hell yet. Luckily, having 75 lightning resist and 40 MDR, the bolts from scarabs do literally zero damage! It took around 20 minutes per level to get through Maggot Lair.

Damn, I really wish this had 6 sockets for my Fireclaws swap! Still looking for an appropriate base for my 4 fpa weapon.


This was hands down the most of these maggots I have ever seen in this room. You can't tell by the screenshot as the majority of them were invisible while I was on this side of the wall. Notice the density of the maggot young, and then extend that to the full room and sprinkle in a bunch of scarabs and adult maggots. It took around 15 minutes just to carve a path through them to the chest, and that was with my standing behind bear/merc decrepping with Spellsteel. The problem was that the eggs were laid and hatched faster than I could kill them, at least without decrep. Now really feeling like I don't belong.


Still pressing forward though XD

I got extremely lucky by finding Level 2 so easily, I was really worried about this dungeon.


I was too nervous to take pics during Fangskin just in case, but here he is after the murder. Getting the ammy took around 1/10th of the time as getting the staff.

And in the Arcane Sanctuary, I hit my wall. I could take out packs of 1-5 or so regular ghosts, but the boss packs created an impassable barrier in these narrow pathways, and I will not use Spellsteel to teleport out of fear. Even with Spellsteel decrep, unless I can keep both merc and grizzly focused onto one monster at a time (and even then sometimes), the damage is just too low to realistically make any progression and I would probably end up dying in the process. I decided at this point it was in my best interest to run Countess for a Lem so I could make a Lawbringer, and then once I had the Lem, run Pits again for a Lawbringer base and a fast 6os base so I can get 4FPA Fire Claws. I think with the fast Fire Claws and perma-decrep I will be able to make it through to A3, the money act!


On to Countess, found 1/3 of a Lem!


Up to 2/3 of a Lem!
