After some contemplative time away from D2, I realized something: I still play like I'm playing softcore.
Both of my deaths were 100% my fault and 100% the result of stupid strategy.
First death: running head first into a boss pack instead of sticking with my merc/golem just to save a few seconds. Keep teleport staff out and try to tele past them instead of just throwing up a bone prison to pass safely. Try to drink a potion and escape instead of just S&E. Stupid!!!
Second death: farming Pits with shit resists and zero DR/MDR. Fire/cold enchanted boss that can easily one shot me with death explosion, just stand there at 70% health instead of drinking a potion and backing up. Die instantly due to bad resists when I had the runes for Smoke sitting in my stash. Stupid!!!
It's not like Bone Necro is even a hard class to get Guardian with...in fact, I would argue that it's probably one of the easiest. Maxed out bone prison + half decent curse usage means I should never really take a single point of damage if I'm careful, and I can get a pretty good set of end-game gear from nothing but mid-tier runewords and some gambled rares.
To make a long story short, I'm going to try and be less of an idiot this time.
If you've been reading from the beginning and you're thinking to yourself "is this guy really going to post screenshots from Act 1 Normal for the third fucking time", the answer is yes.
