Have you considered P8 Chaos and only killing Storm Casters? Just a theory but IIRC they have different (better) rune drop rates than the other monsters in the area.

If you’re talking about Infernal Pit/Abbadon/Pit of Acheron etc I think they’re not truncated to ~65000 patterns like LK/RoF superchests. It’s more like 4 billion patterns..
