That's kind of what I figured at the beginning, based on the few high level Avengers I've seen and my own experience with one is softcore single player, where I wasn't playing p8.
Plan for NM yet is get Rockstopper, a better weapon, then push to LK and farm a Lem and a base for Treachery. Having a lot of internal debate about whether to go HF merc all the way or do Lawbringer for more DR
Hmmm, good question. HF merc would provide protection all the time where as A5 merc w/ LB would only provide protection once in the heat of battle. Another consideration is what merc is going to be given the best chance to stay alive in Hell.
