Imho in SP it's always up to the player what he wants to do and what he considers cheating.

For example, the PluggY stash is just LOVE.... and what it's mostly does is bring the convenience level up (into the sky). Because if I need a chipped gem for something, I don't want to do 3 what-eve runs to get one- no I can just get to my stash and get one out. If I need 10 tir runes in a row I don't need to to boring runs, I can just take them out (and it's ok, because I found them once already). If I'm out of full revs I don't have to kill champions, I take them out of the stash. ETC.
All these things can also be achieved without the extended stash, but it takes (imho) unnecessary time to get something I already found once or 100 times.

Furthermore I personally am also quite liberate with adjusting stat points...if I see I'm missing 6 points for the new armor I found I will take them away from life and put them in strength, instead of waiting 2 levels for this to happens. Who cares man? Again it's just convenient for me. It's not like it's impossible to do these 2 level ups.... However if I need to redistribute more stats point (e.g. had a zero strength sorc and suddenly want to wear storm) I don't just redistribute...I wait till I'm ready and do it at akara.

Depending on the character I also reassign skill points in early game.
To give you an example:
I just stared a (undocumented) Blizzard sorc WT.
I have play enough sorcs that I know how it's done.
So what I did at the beginning was to go for combo bolts only, then at 12 (16?) "resetted" and switched to fireball. Then at ~32 "resetted" and switched to blizzard.
Most of you would probably consider this serious cheating. Well I don't because I know (and have) played sorcs without being able to reset EVER countless times...it's just more fund & faster for me this way.

I think it is up to your decision how you want to play your game. People are free to publish their WTs here and play according to their pre-defined rules. If I am not interested in something, I will not read that. Simple.

However, my problem with PlugX is the lack of compatibility. If you start a char using PX, from then on you have to play with PX. There is no turning back. For this reason I prefer more to play with normal stash, and use mule chars if I want to keep something for further use.

To me this is just about time consumation:

"Heya!! I found HoZ and Sacred Targe @45 in same run!"
"Hmm.. not enough space to keep them both :( For current planned build HoZ would be better but if I find Arach and TO Gloves I could switch to Sacred Targe"

- Trashes Sacred Targe -

Some runs later:
"Heya again! I found TO gloves (1 run later)"
"Damn!! I trashed my perfect Sacred Targe"
"Not enough space to keep TO gloves either and even if I could I would still need more stuff like Arachnid / Sacred Targe to get that build going"

- Trashes TO gloves -

"Hmm I would love to craft some stuff but stash is full with current planned gear"
"If I ever equip my planned gear, I might be able to do some crafting"

- Trashes all craft stuff for that time -

"Oh! Now I can equip my stuff, really nice!! Hmm I would also love to craft now but I have no mats"

- Grinds for craft mats and trashes all possible item options that have been found due to no space in stash -

... well, I really agree that this is more of a challenge but it also sounds like a plain stupid waste of time (not so much about appropriate strategy)

i like how this entire tldr analogy excluded the fact it took seb 1000 runs to get an arachs LOL

i literally craft flawless gems w/ shrines for crafting rings amus and gloves. as well as holding mf gear, extra charms, flawed gems to mute up to vex, and usually a treachery shell.

this argument is so weak.

I like how you excluded common sense from your life

The fact it took 1000 runs is his point exactly, without ex. Stash he would have to take up a 2x2 block in his stash for 1000 runs until he found the arach, or throw it out to make room for another item before finding it

with ex. Stash you just pick it up and forget it until you need it, he still found the item, and he chooses to store it in Santa's sack instead of your dad's tackle box

you're not going to just find an arachs

if you want a grail character, and you need extended stash for that, it's completely different and acceptable

but you're still not playing diablo as it's meant. ladder runewords don't require any modifications to the game. so while it seems like a strawman argument, and maybe not 100% intended, they also didn't design the game around /players8.
