Fortitude doesn’t make your merc all that tanky compared to other options; it’s used for the massive damage it provides. For Tankiness you’d be better off with a GA. Hydras are bugged and deal insanely high damage to mercs, 90 fire res vastly improves this.

But yeah, definitely cap his res if it isn’t lol, not sure how it’s positive it wouldn’t be capped. Andy’s with no fire res jewel I guess?

the thing you're doing wrong is having fortitude instead of treachery

Get a CTA and max his resists.

I use Andarials with Ral rune, Eth Guardian Angel, and Eth Tomb Reaver, and after CTA he is pretty much unkillable in Trav

use treachery forty sucks

Treachery for ias too leech faster and vamp gaze def better if ias doesnt help

Looks like general consensus is Treachery or GA > Fortitude, which is interesting because those are much cheaper and less sought after than a Forti.
Since starting the thread:
- i've balanced my andy's with a Ral rune (very important) probably the most beneficial
- Upgraded the weapon to an eth CV insight, which increased dmg significantly, he one or 2 shots most monsters also increased his life steal
- got a CTA, big life increase which definitely helps
- I'm still using fortitude but he's not dying nearly as much anymore, though occasionally when i teleport into an elite mob in Chaos he'll die but that's more due to carelessness on my part
