From all of the tests I have done sorcs like the Holy Freeze (NM Defense) on their merc most. This is especially true of sorcs who don't use cold, but even on my orb sorc I noticed and improvement.

The only problem with holy freeze is if you're really fast and only kill the elites. Holy freeze turns everyone blue and it's damn hard to tell which one is the elite, that's why I don't run holy freeze

Hmm, with a Light sorc, you should be killing them all off screen and the only thing you need to rely on the merc to do, is NOT DIE while holding infinity. When does the color of the monsters become an issue whether they are normal of elite? The last one still alive is normally the elite right?
