Mix, you only need at minimum 150ish mf.. the goal to maximize profit is to find GG rates, not unique items.

I normally go with 100% mf. Anything above this starts diminishing returns. A decent amount would be 200-250% if wanting certain Magical+ Drops. MF does NOT change the Rune drops, so it doesn't matter if you have 0 or 1000 mf % when hunting runes.

Killspeed with decent MF, or 0 mf. If you are after Base items, hunt areas where they have a lot of Weapon & Armor Stands, Lower Kurast has a lot, and also Halls (Act 5 after killing Pindle) where you can also look for the Gold Chests on each level all the way to killing Nihlathok.
