Hit 30 during Travincal and switched to whirlwind immediately. Wasn't really prepared for the mana use, I've got a 4% ML ring along with the 2% gorefoot boots. So far I go through a fair amount of mana pots because I don't do enough damage to leech mana back. Hopefully a few more points into whirlwind will help with that.
Meph quest drop, fight was easy

Probably won't rerun him, not sure anything of use drops from normal Meph. Maybe a Manald, but for now I'll keep going unless mana really becomes an issue.

Izual took the usual 5 minutes as a melee but no worries so far at any point. I've got a good amount of life and defense to keep me trucking forward.

The dreaded El rune from my forge. Was really hoping for an Amn so I could make Strength and have some crushing blow for Diablo.

Nothing scarier then your whirlwind pathing you through the entire length of Diablo's lightning/fire hose

Merc died about 5x but he was able to survive 2 hoses before collapsing so I kept him up most of the time.

Larzuk was holding onto a +1 warcry sword for me. Bought it to keep on my switch for now.


And that's all the further I've made it so far! Curious what gear or weapons I can expect to find in normal? I think I'll probably farm baal minions until I'm 45 or so before I move into nightmare. I really need more physical damage. Right now I'm using Cleglaws long sword for the 50% deadly strike combined with 20% critical strike from sword passive. My other weapon is a Malice long sword. The 70% crit and open wounds is OK, but I need more physical damage to assist mana leech.

Here's a little gear update after farming Pindle with 99% mf. That 3 open socket horned helm with +2 find item was a GG random drop. I couldn't wait for 2 more perfect topaz so I just tossed in 1 perfect and 2 flawless for now. Either way with just 1 skill point my find item is at 7 right now for 37% chance. The dual leech Havoc Circle ring was a gamble from Anya, also a fantastic ring for this point in the game. Nothing else really of note, my offhands are both +1 barb skill for pre-buff and item-finding.



Was hoping for some weapon upgrades but not really sure what can even drop in normal. I know Bloodletter can drop but I remember the repair costs of that thing being pretty ridiculous. Maybe Baal will be nice and drop me a headstriker

Here's a character screen update. At this point Shenk is done, barbs have been saved, Anya has been saved. I'll probably save Nihlithak till after Baal simply because my kill speed is slow and there's nothing really worth trekking down there for. Will progress through and finish normal later today.

Good luck! Are you planning on dual wielding swords the whole time or go 2H eventually?

Took a while but no real danger at any point.

About to head in to baal, not looking forward to this...Lister & minions took a solid 5 minutes at least and a trip to town for more potions. Never had to split them though so we're pretty tanky.

Took 12 minutes and some trashy drops. Never spawned a clone though so that's a huge relief. Gonna try out some nightmare and see how I fare
