act 5 merc has very fast regeneration, 6% hp per second. That can keep it alive on a mitigation based no damage lawbringer build. Ex lawbringer phase blade, up eth ber guardian angel and ber/ber coa. That hits 90% resist, 39% dr, 20k+ defense with a high level shout and fast healing.

with no weapon damage, even if you gave him fortitude + 40/15 vamp gaze and an eth legend sword lawbringer, he leeches about 25-50% of his normal regen rate. So dont bother. Better to reduce incoming damage so your regen is amplified. And arreats is actually bad on him, he gets no +skills or %fhr so its not worth it

Rock stopper and shaft with an ort and ral is my budget setup that has never failed me. Obviously treachery is better once you can get one, but considering you're still in nightmare.. huge Dr is good.
