you would have to start fresh.
you could make a 2nd d2 directory so you don't lose anything or could switch between v1.14 and whatever other version you want to play. then copy your char files over.
pretty sure if you just copy/paste your char files from 1.14 --> 1.13c it would be fine

Copy char file over?

Tried to copy/past char files this past weekend when I installed a PlugY and couldn't find them. So I just uninstalled the PlugY and went back to my 1.14 version. Maybe I could spend more time trying to figure out where it would be located before I installed the PlugY.

or
c://users>username>saved games>diabloii

for plugy it's something like:
c://program filesx86>diabloii>plugy> I don't have plugy anymore so I can't give you the specifics, but you get the idea. GL
