feels like cheating to me. but if it's stated in your rules then it's w/e.
just make sure it's in your rules, don't say p8 at all times and later you get caught on p3 reruns lol

However op asked if anything other than p8, whether mentioning in thread or not, is cheating.

So, thread says:
“p8 progression and p3-5 reruns”

He’d consider that cheating.

Who cares? Nearly every one of the hc chars were backed up. Don't tell them though. It'll get 2018 real quick.

Totally cheating. Even countess reruns on p1 is cheating if it goes from a hard time to easy time.

E: Maybe cheating isn't the right word. If they state in rules they'll allow other than p8, they actually follow their own rules. But I really think it's worthless to play on anything else, I thought people was using p8 for a challenge. Then you shouldn't reduce it cause it takes too long

I put “cheating” in quotes for a reason. When I say cheating I mean do you believe it takes away from the challenge of a true /p8 walkthrough and therefore lessen the accomplishment.

Obviously anyone can play as they’d like, but I started doing /p8 walkthroughs because it is essentially the perfect challenge for the game.



I agree with this too. I used to change the settings before I entered lvl 5 every time just to keep it more legit. Later I just stopped farming countess except when I needed a very specific lower rune. Doing reruns completely on /p1 takes away a ton of risk and for someone to freshly enter he’ll and just dark countess on /p1 to get rune words and then advance is kinda bullshit.

It's definitely less cheating than plugy is, that much is for 100% sure!

List your rules in your first post. Follow those rules exactly. That's all that maters

countess drops more runes on p1 than p8, not sure if that bolded takes that into account.

also i know i've done runs where im in hell but need spirit or other low runes, so i do some norm countess runs on p1. at that point i have a char that u could afk in p8 level 5 for an hour and not die, with merc literally cannot lose. at that points the challenge aspect is moot.
