So ladder reset about a week and a half ago, and it's been a good race so far. When the ladder reset, i knew i wanted to race in the ladder but i just wasn't sure if I would be dedicated, or get lucky enough with finding items. I considered just leaving it alone, preserving the fg i had built up from jsping, and simply play non-ladder dueling with my ladder chars from last season. but as it happens each season, ladder called me just as it calls the other leaders on the world ladder board (East, West, Asia Europe) and just as it calls the pkers once dueling gets underway.
Well it was a slow start. Not the slowest, mind you. It started off with me and a guild member pubbing through normal. while it seemed dreadfully boring and insignificant at times, we remember that there was a greater end to these meager deeds should the dedication be put forth. But what bad luck, i had stayed awake for over 24 hours before the ladder reset! So in chaos i could quest no more and succumb to the bodily function of sleep. it was a long sleep.
The sleep was so long, that when i awoke, many of the much needed items were available. there were even level 77 chars available to help out if a quest was too difficult! That's the great thing about jsp - you can find someone to help you in your games, and find the items you need at a fair price. I must say that dominating the world barbarian ladder race in such obliterating, unyielding fashion would not have been possible without the great network of d2jsp. Jsp not only gets you help and lets you acquire items but it enhances your knowledge-base about the game thus allowing you to get good and possibly lmk. So with these items available, and a re-energized spirit for powering through the game, i sat at the computer for longer than i have been awake the previous day and manually leveled my paladin and amazon in nightmare some cbaals. i don't level my paladin and zon as much now because i've focused on my barb. It sure has been a lot of clicking, and i've killed baal more times than i can remember, but i've managed to completely dominate the world barbarian ladder race. this can be confirmed by logging into each realm and looking at the barbarian tab. In classic, expansion, and hardcores of both clearly there is but not one single ounce of competition against my unstoppable pvm barb. As you can see below i use two axes which i use to decapitate baal countless times per day. It's a grind of attrition but i don't mind it because i just enjoy killing baal that much. I do kill diablo as well. the monsters leading up to diablo tend to drop more high runes (or maybe it's just because there are more of them) which i use to construct new rune words from time to time. my favourite runeword is the 15 ed 406% ebotdz that i made.
If i had to choose killing just one boss every time i think it would have to be baal. it's so satisfying killing the second and last wave before baal, and then watching baal helplessly try to cast the blue defense skill as i ww effortlessly through his rage.
