This is surprising. With upgrades to find item in d2r, Barb is best mf char in game. Maybe already was. Trav Barb, pitzerker, and even CS Barb still works.

Just goes to show you we still enjoy aoe skills from casters and slaying bigger mobs at a time

2 people voted sin? WAT? XD

voted barb because it's only good at horking, by far the worst at everything pvm that doesn't include horking

whirlwind buffs pls :D or even better buff the base damage of all weapons by *1.7 to *2.0 (and nerf melee/ranged damage in pvp by 1/12 then to keep pvp balance). long overdue change, make physical characters great again!

Really interesting for me to see everyones view,

I guess Pvm.could be segmented again to online or SP.

In my experience on SP a druid offers insane early game p8 runthrough with fire skills, is decent through nm if u spec wind and relatively easy to MF with in multiple areas in hell with basic gear,

A barb is hard first few acts of norm but once you can shop a few weapons and get into the later acts its reasonably easy to farm nm andy or something for a better weapon and when you hit butchers or headstriker you can go into pits or trav with find item and its OP - i managed a 14 day old barb with grief and enigma by farming pits after butchers drop in my nm runthrough - yes was lucky but the you're playing in lvl 85 areas quickly and safely if HC.

Necro for me is the one that slows down into nm and hell with no fast Mf methods, no overpowered skills i think its the hardest journey into endgame.

The 2 votes into assassin are either troll or didnt play the game before - easyiest p8 clear in normal with fire traps, easy nm clear with light and easy endgame with just a couple of Guls needed. 3 votes into sorc again pure troll.

Have to disagree as I'm currently experiencing it.
Atleast for p8 even with farming in norm killspeed is really bad.
Farming andi is not an option at all.
Compared to something like sorc or hdin which steamroles everything as soon as you have your first spirit and insight this is a huge difference.
I agree though that once you have some decent weapons farming in hell is okay especially for areas like pit.
But without high end equip its always gonna be slower then a cold sorc farming ancient tunnels.
A hdin can pretty much farm chaos p8 without any good equipment besides dual spirit.

Druid is not best in class for pretty much any build/element/area.

Barb is hands down the best/fastest mfer for Trav & Pits.

Edit: Behind Druid id put the Necro - also subdued to other classes, but CE alone keeps him out of last place.

This

You can find to find sth with anything on this list, except druid cuz druid is just shit
And I have tried all kind of druids eith highend gear but no

What does pvm mean exactly? Mfing? Completing the game? SSF, SP, online? P1, P8? Gear? TZ farming, boss killer, elite hunter, ubers? I think context matters much.

A decked out barb is hands down the best mfer in the game in p1, no challenge if you are elite hunting. Boss killing not that great, TZ farm, nty. Turn it up to p8 and he's pretty trash everywhere. Without gear, he's also pretty trash. WT norm is slow unless twinked, same with nm and hell.
A decked out amazon can literally do anything and rather quickly regardless of what. Player count does not faze amazon, even with little to no gear, she still is a top performer. Zon owns norm, nm and hell with ease, no twinking required. If twinked you will fly through everything.
Same for paladin, but much slower without gear, mainly enigma. Pally is slow in norm but picks up quick as soon as you get spirit, owns nm and slows down a little in hell until you have gear. Twinked play is a breeze on all difficulties.
Same for sorc with the exception of ubers, does not require much gear, it just increases speed. Ubers is possible but its pretty garbage. Sorc can complete the entire game naked, the more gear the faster. Once you have tele, the game is over. Twinked play you can do with eyes closed.
Same for assassin, but requires mosaic setup. Trapper is capable but just not near as good as the others in terms of speed, not good at bossing or ubers but doable. Sin starts slow, ramps up a bit but then slows down once you reach hell. Twinking speeds up a bit but still not great at bossing unless we are talking mosaic.
Necromancer can also do anything in the game but it's really slow, probably the weakest overall. Terrible at everything really, even decked out. Norm slow, nm slow, hell slow. Twinking doesn't really change it.
Druid can do the entire game as well but again, slow AF even decked out. Druids in norm vary depending on spec, melee is slow, ele is moderate and summoner is also moderate. All 3 speed up a bit in NM but then slow way back down in hell. Twinking definitely has a large effect on druid and can massively change speed but even then, it's nothing compared to the high damage classes.

I think it really depends on what you are measuring and what you value. In terms of speed on a geared character, necromancer is easily the worst. Without gear, its definitely barb. However, both have incredible survivability. Necro is basically immune to death thanks to bone prison and barb is inherently tanky. Druid would be the runner up to necro with gear and without it would certainly be barb -> necro -> druid. Some would say druid is worse than necro, but side by side druids nado kill speed is much faster than minions, CE or bone spec. It can be annoying due to the pathing and not hitting all the time though. All the other classes are in an entirely different league with gear. It's not really debatable if you are measuring by speed, anyone that has done p8 WTs on all classes know this is the case. If your aim is to complete the game and not die, well, then priorities change and all 3 of those classes are much more likely to complete that goal than other classes due to their extremely good defenses. Sorc for example can easily be 1 tapped by a range of minions in hell if you aren't specced right and sometimes even when you are. Nothing like getting cocky and blind teleporting into a fanat mana burn doll pack, lol GL.
