All I can find are people arguing about this topic without anything conclusive lol.

With level 24-27 Frenzy and Grief PB 30% IAS, you only need 5% more IAS to reach 5 frames per attack.
Which you can get from either the Primary(Glove Side) Grief 35% IAS or Off-Weapon IAS.

However, having more Off-Weapon IAS from LOH Gloves, 15% IAS Jeweled Helm, Highlord's amulet, and a higher IAS Grief PB will help you
1. Reach that 5 FPA faster because the faster you attack, the faster the Frenzy will accumulate. But you will kill fast enough regardless.
2. Fight under decrepified status, which happens often in Chaos and Baal Runs.

If the question is being asked because you want to buy the best bang for buck Grief, go for low IAS and High Damage.
You will get enough IAS from your gear, it is isn't required to spend more on a high IAS Grief as the prices go up drastically because of this misconception.

I'm actually trying to make it work in BAs

Am I correct in thinking a botd + grief with loh, highlords and a 15% ias jewel hits the 5fpa bp?

Hmm If you put BOTD in an ETH BA, that'll be okay since BOTD makes it indestructible, however grief in BA is a pain because you'll have to end up repairing consistently. Grief in Phase Blade is best for that reason, but you can't run BA/PB because of the range, where BA has a range of 3 and PB of 2.

I have used both, but BAs are 100% better for clearspeed for single player, repairing isn't an issue as you will be loading new games more often than you need to repair, you can do baal + cs for example on one repair which is more than enough. Edit* this is for whirlwind btw, but the thread is regarding frenzy/

Most people run Dual Grief PB's because of it's IAS and the fact that you don't have to repair it. But for your question if you want to run BA's Griefs, you would need 40 IAS BA + 70 IAS from Off-weapon IAS to reach 5 FPA, which seems harder to obtain than just running Grief PB's. -30 vs 0 / PB vs BA.

You would have to replace SOE or Dungo's for Nosferatu's, but even then you're missing 5 IAS with a 40 IAS GRIEF BA, hope that answers your question. But you'll just be at 5.5 vs 5 FPA, so if you like BA's just use it lol

The base weapon speed yeah.

I've ran some calculators and they seem to say BA with 55 ias, 60botd and grief 2nd hits 5fpa.

I play HC, BAs are massively better in every regard except reaching speed breakpoints, you gain about 1k hp vs phase blade, for the most part the extra 100 dex you need to find is wasted with grief.

I was going to use botd, which according to the calc hits 5fpa with grieff offhand and 55 ias from items, I just needed anyone who had tried it to confirm.

Edit - sorry, I only realised botd could reach it last night, at the time of this post I was trying to find out how grief could but the short answer is it isn't really possible without replacing core items.

Yes I agree BAs are better in terms of damage output, however how will you get 55 IAS from Grief BA?
