i've been doing lower kurast runs on single player, /players 8. i got a pretty good map with 2 campfires => 6 super chests
so i was looking in the LK pattern topic - https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=77282905&f=87&o=300

i did some math and realised i should get Lo or above every ~600 runs
calculated like this: 65500 patterns, 18 of wich contains Lo or above, 6 chests per run: 65500/18/6=606

this means, that on average you should get Lo or above every 600 runs. obviously this still means that you COULD end up doing 10 000 runs without getting Lo or above, however it's not very likely.

i've played on this character for a long time and i have done over 3000 runs in total but the only rune above Lo i have found is 1 sur.
am i unlucky or is something wrong with my math? what is your experience?

You just explained that you could go over 10k without finding a hr and yet you don't understand why only one sur in 3k run?

Its still rng mate. I did less than 500 runs and i got myself a ber, sur, lo, gul, pul,pul.

Pray to rngesus. Some folks get Indy and enigma in 5k runs and some won't even get hoto 🤪

in my little LK runs i had 3hr's (iirc) 2 were in a regular chest/ basket (I swear I found my first Ber in a basket in less than 100 runs) Rng is.... well, rng !

Math doesnt matter. Some source says only 2 ber pattern, your link says 5. In 65k.

And yet much better chances than killing mobs. But it happens that you do 1k chest run and zero hr, you kill a birdpack next to the chest and you get a jah.

My best HR drops have been from Cows and The Throne off the waves this ladder. Ber Ber Jah Zod Lo Lo many Vex, Gul and Ists. No Chams, Sur or Ohms FML 2x vex and a emerald got me there though.

I would prefer doing CS runs in less players to be fair.

Mix in some travi. In 500 to 1k runs (I don't count) on my single player walks I've got 1 Gul, 2 Vex, 1 Ohm, 1 Lo, 3 Sur, 1 Ber, 2 Jah (pretty sure it were 2 although I can only find the screenshot of 1) and 2 Cham. Everything was done on P5.
According to drop calc the chances for highrunes on P5 in travincal are about half per run compared to LK patterns but looking at my drops I'm not so sure about that.
