After getting my throw barb to Guardian I still gots the itch for this kooky game, so I've made a character that's always interested me: a paladin utilising Vengeance and Conviction as his main means of damage. I made one a long while back with sword + shield, this time around it's only two-handers!
It's a pretty cool build in that it's a melee character that dishes out largely elemental damage. Conviction means he never has to worry about immunes, attack rating, or Conviction-enchanted unique packs (our Conviction will be maxed so always a higher level).
The downsides are it's a horrendously slow, single-target attack, with no real mob control. We'll be relying on lots of IAS on gear, a hard-hitting two-handed weapon, and lots of life leech! Oh and some Conversion thrown in there to keep crowds busy
Vengeance's elemental damage is calculated before off-weapon ED (including min/max), as well as "adds
x damage"... so standard endgame melee gear such as Grief and Forti will not be on the cards here!
Skill tree will look something like this:
Defensive auras20 Resist Lightning (Vengeance synergy)
20 Resist Fire (Vengeance Synergy)
Rest in Resist Cold or Salvation
One point in all others except Meditation
Offensive auras20 Conviction (aiming for slvl25 with +skills gear to hit max -res)
Prereqs, nothing else used
Combat skills20 Veneance (main attack)
x points in to Conversion (to slvl5)
Prereqs, nothing else used

With that out of the way, let's talk rules & goals!
Rules- 1.14d, no external programs
- Hardcore, save and exit is allowed
- Ladder runewords are okay
- /players8 for progression, can be adjusted for boss and Countess reruns
- Once hit level 18, Vengeance + Conversion only attacks allowed
- Two-handed weapons ASAP and at all times*, with the exception of CtA, which may be made one-handed and used with a shield (though only to cast BC/BO)
*I am optionally leaving out staves and spears, as they drastically increase FHR frames
Goals- Make it to hell difficulty
- Find a Crainte Vomir (one of my favourite two-handed weapons, and think it'd be nice for this build)
- Make a sweet ethereal endgame weapon, thinking Oath or Death

And so it begins! I'll post minimal screenies of normal unless something cool/funny drops. Plan is Zeal + Holy Fire up to 18, then Vengeance + Holy Freeze, before going Conviction at 30.
Gambled
Errr, isn't this rare as hen's teeth?
