First of all i am a newbie, despite i play the game since long time, i didint played it for like 10 years so be gentle on me. English is not my native, too, so expect tons of language mistakes.


I found this thing today while running with my beloved assassin :




I play hc, i am noob, i love melee chars, i will never have high runewords , would this be usable ? like a frenzy mf barb , for exemple ? i would upgrade it twice of course and socket it accordingly.

Please dont sue me if this is totally worthless, just the crazy ar and potential dmg if double upped ?

It lacks IAS but it can be useful.
Lazruk would add 1 socket to it, and putting Shael in it could be nice.

I'd upgrade it to PB and throw Shael in.
You won't lose much by trying just to see the clear speed.

Yes its sad for the as, i was thinking of double upgrade + larzuk then shael, and making a mf barb with my etheral skullder, and an alibaba or smtg in off hand and going frenzy ? The crazy ar would free some free spot for the rest, and the +2 is still nice if the dmg follows

x6 IST Phase Blade instead Ali Baba might be an option too

with a 40ed jewel and +40dmg from fools, it's 117-169dmg = 143average = one third of grief pb

Yeh phase blades have terrible damage although consistent and fast with great range and indestructible. Which is why grief allows phase blades to have end game damage and gives them viability once and for all. This sword double upped would actually be useful for leveling a barb but eventually you would want something better

If it had rolled eth, then you’d have a pretty good one to put a good rune in.

I was talking about a player that will never have grief, me for exemple. I think it's not fair to not take into account the huge At (1400+) and the +2 all which give more DMG via skills and also the two other trees.
Not every players play with high RWs
