(it also prevents the Nihl snakes from casting their death poison, although blind doesnt always proc of course)

i just wanted to share this because it really goes overlooked by most players.
I personally use this one on my fire sorc's merc. i use her to farm the icy cellar and the souls can be really nasty.

it's also really nice for melee toons' mercs to stop those pesky out of reach ranged attackers from firing at you from behind the front lines.

it also works wonders in WSK with all the flayers / souls

i recently ebugged this 1210 defense 3 os lacquered plate so finally the old 1800 defense gloom can be replaced.

Here is an example of just how useful this is. I didn't even mention how much it also helps versus the witches and other types of snakes.

Of course I throw Tgods on instead of goldwrap whenever i'm farming the icy cellar, but the souls are still really annoying for my mana pool:

Why do you use CV base ?

This is true but it completely stops them from using their ranged attacks and then they will only use melee while blinded.
Enemies with only ranged attacks will just stand there and do nothing.
That is highly preferable


I of course generally prefer cryptic axe, great poleaxe or thresher but it was a while back
and a 4 os eth CV was literally all i had at the time when I finally had the runes for infinity and I just couldnt wait for a better shell.

My hdin did have an eth cryptic axe insight at the time (Which my blizz sorc Cryogenic now uses because my hdins merc now uses an eth Doom cryptic axe which i dont regret at all)
but i had rolled it several times until getting 17 medi, and really didn't want to give it up just to have a better shell for infinity.

besides, with my fire sorc she is a dedicated 405-435% MF sorc
and i literally only use her for andy, dury, meph, eldritch, pindle, nihl, and the icy cellar and she wrecks everything without ever having to rely on merc for kills

i do have other characters whose mercs have to borrow the infinity though, so for some of them it might be nicer to have a faster base, but really its fine.

good call on gloom:) I like delerium helmet personally for the confuse and mind blast. plus dream on melee sorc:)

Base doesn't matter as long as it's eth and elite.

COH + Delirium combo obviously

Yeah, the confuse from Delirium or Dream is definitely even more Effective than Dim vision, but then your only option for life leech will be COH (for mercs of caster characters, anyway) so it’s just a lot more of an expensive setup than just a Fal Um Pul and Andy’s or Tals hat for life leech

All the neckbeards will ofc use thresher etc. but u won't notice any difference
