Hello all,

I’ve been theory-crafting an assassin build that isn’t a trapsin, kicksin, or trap/kick hybrid. I was trying to think of a more niche build that could be fun to play but also viable to make a /p8 solo WT run.

Anyway, I’m just gonna list the skills and goal gear I would aim to find/make to get this TS/DC sin to a safe but effective level. I’m looking for any suggestions, alternatives, or critiques to the proposed build.

Skills
Tiger Strike - 20
Dragon Claw - 20
Claw Mastery - 20
Fade - 15+
Weapon Block - 10+
Mind Blast - 1
Dragon Flight - 1
Wake of Fire - 1

Gear
Weapons: Dual Bartucs or Bartucs/Jade Talon
Armor: ‘Duress’ (budget) or ‘Fortitude’ (end-game)
Helm: Gface
Gloves: LoH or Crafted CB gloves
Belt: SoE
Boots: Gores
Ammy: Hilords
Ring 1: Raven
Ring 2: Rare or Crafted AR/Life/Stats/Resists

I acknowledge this would be a slow, grind-it-out build, but I’m currently playing a Fendzon so I’ve become accustomed to a slow grind.

Sounds fun to me! I made build utilising the same skills a number of years ago, though I utilised Nat’s set. Obviously not the most optimal gear but it certainly wins some style points, in my humble opinion. Basically gives you constant Fade so opted for BoS instead. Weapon Block, Mind Blast, Cloak of Shadows and Shadow Master are all really helpful, as is merc. I went for A2 Might with Reaper’s - Decrep obviously helps out your damage considerably.

It’s by no means a fast killer, especially in /p8, but I had a blast with it. Would definitely follow if you did it

Oh and yeah, Bartuc’s or Jade Talon both worked pretty well as I recall. I had a lot of fun with Shadow Killer too, though again, not exactly BiS!

I haven’t fired her up in years, and I was even more noob with the game than I am now, but I could find her and see what I did!

Thank you for your input! So do you have a recommendation for where to allocate my skills if I’m to use Shadow Master?


This isn’t the walk through thread yet brotha, was just posting an idea for people to comment on or critique. But if you want to donate 10 eff gees my way I’ll use it for this WT when it gets up and rolling!

Would be using phoenix strike or what for PI?

was pretty much going to play this with minor tweaks for the next 1-95 melee race whenever that happens, courteously of pika trying to handicap me

Decreptify. Initially I would farm for a Lem in NM and make ‘Lawbringer’ for an A5 merc and then ideally farm Reaper’s Toll for A2 merc.

Looks like I allocated skills pretty much as you suggested, but using BoS instead of Fade, and didn't use as many points in it. With Shadow Master, I put enough points in to get it to level 17 with +skills gear.
