There are a handful of unique bows that say "fires magic arrows" or "fires explosive arrows"

If an Amazon uses the Explosive Arrow skill with one such bow equipped, do those mods have any effect? If so, what is the effect exactly?

Nah, It receives the synergy bonus but thats it, no + skills or anything. +% fire damage work from facets or fire mastery on sorcs, but yea the level of the skill is set depending on what item it is, just check arreat summit for that.

Kuko for example says "Fires Explosive Arrows Or Bolts [Level 7]" so it will always fire level 7 exploding arrow and can only gain damage if you skill up Fire Arrow(synergy) or use facets

So you're saying if my Amazon is using a level 20 Explosive Arrow skill with a Kuko equipped, it will still do the damage of a level 7 skill?

The regular attack will always be lvl 7 if you attack with your level 20 skill it will be lvl 20.

So in that case the 'fires explosive arrows' mod has no effect, right?

Only has an effect if you plan to shoot regular arrows at some point, which is pointless.

Yeah u will have level 27 explosive arrow.
Also your strafe and multiple shot will shot explosive arrows, and frozen arrow wont freeze cos it will explode the ice shards right after freezing the target.
It was nerfed but in 1.07 valk also had explosive arrows.
