So I was thinking,

What if, after EVERY act boss, you had to drop all your gear and play the start of the next act naked & slowly regear for the act boss?

Doesn't have to be HC but would def be crazy interesting.

You can keep jewels/runes/gems in stash but that's it.
Runeword bases must be found in that act & you still have to drop it on the next one if you complete the act.


I downloaded Median XL mod & it somehow overwrote all my other d2 files so I can't play vanilla d2 in any way, shape, or form unfortunately.

Was just a thought in my head last night. I feel like sorcs/necros/pallys would be the easiest in this type of challenge.

Not sure about merc, maybe something like must use the merc in the act yours in with the exception of getting your pick of the litter for act 4. (can choose a1/a2/a3 merc)

Sounds intriguing to say the least. It would especially suck if quest drops from a boss happened to be useful but you couldn’t use it.

Perhaps allowed to carry 1 and only 1 drop from each act boss into the next town? But then you'd still have to drop it the next act.

Say you find SOJ from andy, you can choose to go naked + SOJ thru a2, but as soon as duri is dead, SOJ is gone. Seems like it may work that way.

Another twist on this idea could be to gear up as best you could in norm (lol) and then starting in NM you lose 1 gear slot after each boss kill and that gear slot can’t be replaced.

All sounds pretty interesting!! Would definitely follow!

I'm aware of that, but some sort of summoner could do it very slowly. Caster druid with Smax plague summons and as soon as you find even a normal white staff it's +50% FCR

And in Median I'd say getting thru hatred & terror would be all you could do. I was 120 on my last char in a1 Dest lol
