After years of training, I have finally reached the physical strength to attempt to return to my homeland, Mount Arreat. A great distance must be traveled and I only wish I could have done it sooner. Stories of terror and destruction fill the taverns. Many say Diablo, The Lord of Terror has returned. A tale of Tristram falling is being whispered more and more. I have made it to the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye and spent many nights here speaking with the townsfolk. I have met a beautiful beast of a woman named Charsi, that I will make my bridge. First, I must clear the path to safety so that we may travel and collect enough gold to make it happen. Citizens of the encampment have confirmed Tristram has indeed fallen, and Gheed has revealed the old man Cain is being held hostage by demons in the remains of the town. Cain is the only knowledgeable person left from the old world. I must save him in hopes that he will be able to assist me in conquering the evil if it has truely returned. The sisters numbers dwindle, Kashya, the commander of the camp, will not assist me in venturing outside the walls of the encampment. She is convinced the sisters minds have been cursed by the evil demoness, Andariel. Andariel corrupts them and convinces them to do her bidding. Many have mysteriously disappeared in the night, they have been seen past the moar attacking anyone that comes near. I must do it alone. Akara has confirmed the existence of this creature of hell and asked me to seek her out and lift the curse so that their sisters may be saved. However, directly outside the walls of the encampment is filled with undead that have risen from a den that burrowed up from the depths. I will clear this Den of Evil so that the sisters can rest easy tonight.

The sisters were right to be afraid to step outside of their encampment. My lowely axe was not enough to take on the droves of dead and demons that are waiting to pounce on anything with a pulse. I searched and searched the moar until I came upon a hut which contained a beautiful ring hidden under some fabric. I returned to Akara and she traded me 2 glorious scepters made of steel that will surely be more of a match for the battles that lay ahead. I will no longer carry a shield and axe, I can only hope to swing fast enough to not need the shield to guard me. I found the entrance to the source of this defilement of the moar and entered. The foul stench of that place was unmatched to any I have come across before. Dead rogues lay all throughout the place. I battled my way through the depths until I came across the strongest undead of them all but his strength did not match mine. I cut him down and returned to Akara to inform her of our victory. While resting, Kashya told me there is a graveyard past the moar that is infested with skeletal warriors and more undead. They are being commanded by an old companion that was corrupted by Andariel, Blood Raven. Once struck down the burial grounds would return to peace, hopefully. I did not want to adhere to her request, but she offered me a companion if I were to complete this quest and I could not deny to not have to work alone.

Once I passed the moar, I came across a rogue, Flavie, that warned me corrupted sisters were ahead and to not underestimate them. They swarmed me in droves with picks and lances, but they were no match for my great scepters speed and agility. I must have killed them by the dozens before reaching the burial grounds.

Within, Kashya was correct. I found the source of the tainted land and struck her down. Once she was finished, all of the demons around fell with her. What is this magic? Kashya kept her word and rewarded me with a companion to travel with, Aliza. She a tiny little thing, no way will her stick like frame be enough to compel me to break my oath to Charsi. Though any night could be my last. After a nights rest, I will be back on my journey to find Cain. Kashya has informed me the only way to access is it is through a stone structure in the Stoney Fields, but I will not be able to enter until I retrieve some bark from the Tree of Inifuss. I must venture to the fields and pass through the cave at the end. The tree lies on the other side of the cave.

Best of luck to Hopper, and of course Charsi his bridge-to-be! Being Charsi, it will be one of sturdy construction no doubt! :)

Kashya: So, Aliza, how was your first day at the new assignment?
Aliza: Well...I found I was rather safe behind this tanky barbarian meatwall but...it's just these northener art memes. Maybe they are more of the corrupted rogues' cup of tea. Or the succubi's.

I have located the odd stone structure that I was told about. It was guarded by pesky little creatures that shocked me every time I touched them. They were not strong enough to battle me.

I made it to the end of the cave, and it was filled with heinous demons. I should have kept my shield handy to travel through this retched place. It was filled with skeletal archers and a shield surely would have reduced the damage to my body. What kind of barbarian would I be if I could not take steel to my skin. I vow to to never hold a shield again.

I located the tree. One step closer to saving Cain. It seems the hell spawns are aware of the magic this tree holds as it was guarded by a pack of gargantuan foes. Despite their size, they were the fastest enemies I have faced and with each blow I could feel my bones being crushed. Aliza was my saving grace, if it weren't for them being distracted with her, they would have overcome me.

Akara used the bark of the Tree to reveal the path to Tristram. I returned to the stone structure and followed her guidance. Lightning fell all around, striking the stones and opening a portal to Tristram. What is beyond this strange portal?

The town is filled with demons and remnants from the past. Griswold, the old blacksmith, has been cursed to roam the earth as an undead. I have free'd his soul.

Cain portal out the moment I released him from his cage. Why couldn't you portal in the cage old man? Magic makes no sense to me. That is why I stick to steel and an iron will. Cain revealed the worst, Diablo has returned and is leaving a wake of demons wherever he travels. Always heading east, in search of his brothers soul stones. I don't know what those are, but it doesn't sound good. I came across a book in the Stoney Field that describes a great tower in the Black Marsh that is filled with riches. I must seek out these riches to afford a life for my beloved Charsi. I just hope the Countess, who bathed in the blood of 1000 virgins has not been risen by Diablo.

The book was truthful, the castle was filled with riches! However, the worst is also true, the demon Countess has been resurrected. Floor after floor of foul creatures, they gained strength with each level. Ghosts from beyond the grave, goat men, seduced sisters and fallen demon all lurk within this tower. Finally, the final floor I was face to face with The Countess herself. I put her back in the grave from once she was summoned.

She dropped a mysterious rune upon her return to the dirt. Cain is full of wisdom, he has knowledge of the Arreat archives which contains a wealth of knowledge of these runes. Each with their own special effect and many to be found. If placed in the correct order and imbued into certain pieces of equipment will grant unfounded powers. Each requiring different levels of power to yield. Scouring through the documents, I located certain patterns that may be of use to me in the near future. A pattern called Stealth will inevitably be mine and I already have half the pattern. Surely, Charsi will be able to supply me with the equipment to imbue. Even runes alone without a pattern wield great strength. I plan to seek out 6 Tal runes to imbue some weapons with great poison damage. I do not know if demons are weak to poison, but I will determine it. While resting before journeying out again, I heard from the townsfolk Andariel would easily succumb to fire damage. Luckily, the rune Ral will imbue a weapon with hefty fire damage. Hopefully, I will find some of those before we face in a battle to the death. I decided to venture back to the tower to look for more riches in case I missed anything, and to my surprise, the demon Countess was resurrected again. It seems Diablo has a purpose for her and will not allow her to stay beneath the grave for long. Again, she dropped a rune upon her demise. It appears she possesses many runes. I will return to her regularly to acquire the runes I need.

Cain identified a bountiful charm that will surely assist me. All that is required is that I keep it on me at all times to gain its benefit.

Day after day I return to slay The Countess, and she does not disappoint.

In my repeated attempts to locate the runes that are required, I came across an unusual axe. Beautifully crafted but it is wasted on me.

This cap appears to be etched as a part of a set, forged by the infernal. Is it worth to locate the other pieces?

Alas, after a great many victories over The Countess, I have gathered a hoard of runes that should suffice. In exchange for gold, Charsi supplied me with 3 swords to imbue the runes with. Once imbued, the swords gained such profound weight, I could no longer carry them. I must venture out and beat down as many demons as it takes to wield these new powerful weapons.

Charsi sold me some carefully crafted leather to be used for my newly imbued armor. As with the swords, immediately I was unable to carry them upon fastening the runes to the leather. After slaying a hefty amount of demon scum, I returned to check if I could lift them and to my surprise the weight was entirely gone. It is as if these new found pieces of equipment are weightless in my arms. The strength increase to my blows must be increased by a factor of 10 at least! Demons that once took many blows to down now fall with 1 or 2 strikes. Certainly demons are weak to poison. The mystery is solved.

Charsi requested for me to retrieve the sacred malice within the barracks past The Tamoe Highlands and she will reward me with a specially crafted piece of equipment for me. I will ignore this request from my bride to be to show my dominance. There is no need for this piece of equipment with my newly found strengths. Though I will follow the path if it leads me to Andariel. I returned to the Black Marsh and pushed forward and found the Tamoe Highlands, these lands are filled with skeletal mages. I pulverized all of them fallowing the path to the Monastery entrance. Searching the Outer Cloister, I found the entrance to the barracks. It was filled with puny devilkins and shaman raisers. They stood no chance against my massive poisonous blades. Further into the barracks, and through all the levels of the jail within, no devilkin, ghost or skeletal foe of any sort was able to best me. By the time I reached The Outer Cloister, I was covered in blood, shards of bone, and puiss from all the corpses I left behind. Finally, I reached the entrance to a giant Cathedral and within, a stairway to a dark Catacomb. Traversing down, deeper and deeper, the demons grew stronger and greater in numbers but they all fell to my swords. Four levels down into the Catacombs, it grew cold and damp. I finally have reached the demoness, Andariel. I draw my enchanted fire damage sword and battled her to the death. She was a giant Succubus, 3 times my size with massive breasts and 4 extra demon limbs protruding from her back. No wonder she was able to corrupt so many minds, she is irresistible to men and women alike. Not to me, I only see Charsi. I cut down all 4 of her mandibles with ease, the fire blade sliced through her flesh like a hot knife through butter. She repeatedly tried to strangle me in a poison gas cloud but Akara had well prepared me with a crafted antidote. I bested her and stood over her body as it burst into flames. The sisterhood is free of this wretched curse. I returned to the Encampment with the wonderful news, but was met with an even greater challenge. Cain confirmed that Diablo is traveling east through the desert, and with the death of Andariel, the traveling merchant Warriv is safe to run his route to the eastern city by the Sea, Lut Gholein. I say my goodbyes to my beloved Charsi, she is not safe to travel with me. I must cleanse the evil from this world before she can leave the safety of these walls. I'd hoped for a night of passion before joining Warriv in his travels, but she was still angry I did not retrieve her silly hammer. She will regret it if I perish.

We arrived to the desert city and I met the townsfolk. A man named Jeryhn confirmed Diablo had passed through the town asking questions about the Tomb of Tal Rasha's location, the resting place of Baal, The Lord of Destruction. Surely, Diablo seeks to release his brother from his imprisonment within the body of Tal Rasha. I must prevent this from happening or this world could come to an end. Since his passing, the desert and filled with creatures lurking in the dunes and the dead rising from their tombs. I must find this path of creatures, it will lead me to Diablo. Before I can do that, I must avenge the widow Atma. Her family was slaughtered and devoured during an attack on the town that began in the sewers by an ancient mummy. Drognan believes this mummy is known as Radament. I will cleanse the town sewers of this foul beast and set Atma's heart at rest. The city guard Greiz offered his assistance by supplying a mercenary to do my bidding. Aliza could not tolerate his desert stench, but he is stronger and bigger than her. Goodbye Aliza, your deeds will not be forgotten. Chalan, my new friend, wields a giant polearm that allows him to slice down foes at long range. The town blacksmith Farah, had a perfect weapon to be enchanted with poison runes just as mine. Use it well Chalan. Farah is an attractive woman, and she handles a hammer well, but she is no Charsi. I must rest before taking on the sewers, it was a long journey through the desert.

I set out to traverse the sewers and find this mummy Radament. They were filled with the stench of death and decay. Many new foes not seen before have come out of the desert. Giant 4 armed men twice my size wielding scimitars, mummys returned from the dead, powerful risen skeletons, and cat like creatures tried to take me down. They did not stand a chance. They came in large packs at a time. The ancient art of barbaric howling prepared me for these sewers. 1 shout and they flee in horror from my greatness, clearing the path for me to find Radament. After slaying hordes of enemies, I found him. A mummy, significantly bigger than all the others, wielding a giant claw and poison spit. It took many swings to avenge Atma's family, but the deed has been done, she can rest at ease now.
