I played some during delve/betrayal/synthesis abit, And before that closed beta-2015 ish.

Have they managed to make it fun to pick up n play or is game too overwgelming and convoluted to pick up as a casual in 2022 or will I have fun? Got like 3-6h a week

Nope, they are sadly pushing it more for the tryhard guys. Still barely any in game help from the game, so if you want to know how to play the game it's almost mandatory to spend a lot of time on yt or with some buddies that will teach you what to do in game.

They even started an closed alpha mode for a "hard mode" PoE with bigger obstacles everywhere, extremely reduced drops and so on. Masochists paradise, but for other people true pain and misery. So they won't really focus on newbies like you and many other players that would like to start playing.

PvP is non-existent.

I wouldn't recommend this game to casuals unless they are really determined to learn the concepts and knew that they won't get overwhelmed by countless mechanics.

They business model is not for casuals, so you will have a taste of it, but not the endgame.

Started working on a PvP character 1 week ago and going super deep into it. Enjoying myself a lot

PvP exists but you'll only really see like the same 5-10 people, but they're GG players

Too many crashes, you're lookin at 3rd-party tools JUST to begin playing, the devs aren't helpful, uhhhhhhhh, NO. Not to mention there's 0 builds that're economically (SSF) viable.

That's bs, boneshatter, lightning conduit, explosive arrow totems, spectral helix into LS, poisonous concoction, lightning arrow, trappers, blade vortex, bane, detonate dead, cold dot, SRS, some totem builds(ex. Ball lightning, spark), RF, self-cast spark, corrupting fever, shield crush, you have plenty of choices that you can pick up on ssf and blast maps with. Of course some will be better then others, but i think with any build you can blast endgame and do bossing, LS, and explo arrow totems for ex. can do all andgame on ssf fairly quickly.

Still - don't start playing poe if you're not determined enough to get a grasp of countless mechanics, not a game for you OP.

that and if he is experiencing crashing that is on his end, not GGG's.
