New uniques and actually wanting to play harvest now is going to keep me entertained all by itself. Not to mention lake and all the other positive changes. Not a single one of the fucking droolmouths on rheddit rageposting about this league played talisman.

I played talisman the entire league, can honestly say there was more to do in that league than lake. Talisman was trash but it had rigwald fights and all the trash mini bosses leading up to it and talismans were really fun to mess around with (back when mobs auto scooped them and used them)

lake is just making your own map in the most boring way. Its manually putting together a map with a bad tile set with little to no rewards. The bosses are invasion bosses, theres nothing new except the mirror altar. There is nothing new this league, its all rehashed reused stuff that already happens in maps.

having said all of that I'm enjoying ignoring lake and just farming blight/beasts (untouched by drop nerfs) because the core game is fun on its own even though the league is a snoozefest.

core game is fine imo (don't really understand the whine, seems exaggerated attention seeking behaviour)

league is filler trash but who cares

major patch is once a year. hard to come up with new stuff on a 3-month cycle, and let's be honest, any really cool stuff now they'd rather save for poe 2, makes more sense right

League content hasnt been the main attraction for almost two years. Not even during sentinel. Its almost always been upgrades to current content and qol. Obsessive crafting is also not league content. Im fine with how the lake is now and ggg should honestly tell all these whiners [ not you youre being sensible.] To stuff it by not changing anything. These monsters/bosses arent hard if I dont think theyre hard trust me.

I agree with your post for the most part. But people love to forget how unplayable the first week of talisman, and many other leagues like it, were. Its amazing how I havent crashed once am I zues or something?

the loot in the core game is a big issue, you might be farming one of the mechanics that wasn't affected by it but they gutted drops and gave nothing back for it. With the atlas system people shaped their atlas the most efficient way because they didn't announce the change at all until 3 days in. Every mechanic that doesn't give its rewards in chests or heist had its quant reduced by 200-300%.

outside of archnem rares being overturned in boring ways (resists and phys mitigation stacked up) or heralding I think the gameplay itself is fine. But people don't have any motivation to play because the loot is awful and the crafting doesn't exist to make your own gear. If your build just uses a bunch of uniques and all you care about is exp you probably wouldn't notice a change.

I agree, I haven't cared about a league in a long time and usually ignore them and just play the core game for the re balancing and new uniques. But when they touched the core games loot mechanics DURING a boring league is why people are crying. This is 100% a throwaway core gameplay league and they nerfed the core gameplay loop.
