So I started playing at the tail end of last league. Basically got far enough to try a few builds, get one I liked to level 94 and kill Sirus, then the league reset lol.
Made it much further this league. Tried starting with my "main" from last league (ED/C) but just got tired of the slow bossing so made a FR totems build... Got super lucky with boss drops (for example, 2 awakened greater multiple projectiles from Sirus) and managed to work my way up to a HH, and just been slowly building a zoomer (LA Raider).
But... Farming currency has always been hard for me. Besides Nemesis/Beyond, nothing really seems that good... And I don't enjoy Nemesis/Beyond at all (2-5 minutes clearing a map, then 20 minutes going back through and picking up thousands of small currency items... Yeah, gets old fast). I wanna really juice my raider, but farming 2-4 ex an hour when I need ~300-400 ex to really finish my build... Just seems pointless at this point, especially knowing the league is going to reset probably before I can even farm enough.
So far I've tried:
• Legion farming. Just really didn't care for it (Was doing it on Mud Geyser map), in 1 hour I made ~ 2 ex from emblems.
• Einhar farming. Loved the actual farm, but turning putting 800 beasts into pokeballs was terrible. Was making ~ 3 ex an hour.
• Sacred Grove / Essences in Haewark Hamlet. Definitely the one I enjoy the most, essences are a nice stable income and ofc sacred grove is either god tier or complete trash. Just feels really bad when you go on streaks of 20+ maps without a grove. Normally default to this to stock up on harvest crafts for projects.
• Blight farming (map mechanic, not blighted maps). Didn't like this one at all. Too much random stuff that's hard to sell in bulk, really the only thing that consistently sold was the blighted maps and even those...
• Nemesis/Beyond. Definitely the most profitable, but just too much micro-management required (Did the super juiced Misinformation watchstone strat). Between watching Alva to make sure she's not holding a chronicle, rolling all the maps, buying all the scarabs, rolling all the sextants every 4 maps, watching conqs so you don't lock your watchstones in and waste a sextant charge / misinformation watchstone use... Just too much stuff to keep track of, and going on a bad luck streak on rolling sextants or getting exalt drops just feels terrible. Plus the issues I mentioned earlier.
• Jun farming. Actually ran out of missions on this one, was doing it while doing Haewark Hamlet. Probably wouldn't do it again tho, so many leo slams / hillock qualities went to waste on random stuff because no one in TFT was buying at the time. Mostly just did it because I needed the Aislings for other projects.
• Heists. Just not a fan. I tried to like them, I know they're good currency (and was my league start method for building up some currency for gear)... But never really gotten anything good from grand heists and overall they just burn me out.
So far... Honestly, the best currency maker I've found is just crafting gear. But this late in the league, the market is getting saturated and stuff is taking longer and longer to sell... So I'm not sure that's the play going forward. Plus it requires a lot of research into what people are playing, what items are actually selling for more than what they'd cost to craft, what items are being listed but never selling, etc... Which for a newbie who has experience in all of 3 different builds... Is hard

Plus at that point it doesn't really feel like you're playing an ARPG, it's just a crafting / market simulator lol
Are there any map-based farms I can do to hit more than 5 ex an hour? Or is it all just 2-4ex/h unless you get into hyper specialized builds (like 5 way legion carries, MF builds that run 100% delirium with 4 leachers in party and an aurabot friend, etc.)?
