Is there any way to download the patch before it goes "live"?

I am on the Steam client.

Dont use steam client. They give torrent few hrs before for standalone

Even if you use the torrent you'll be stuck in que like everyone else unless you're a streamer.

i never had a problem with downloading patch in time and getting in top 1k queue...// on steam

yeah ive never understood this elitist perception of the standalone version I have used both and never noticed a difference for releases or patches

they've had a few issues in the past with steam version

I have used the Steam version since Harbinger.
So I assume the problems you're talking about happened before that?

Nope, they had problem with steam client during beastiary.


Not saying it's riddled with issues, but it absolutely has more issues than the standalone

Standalone is just better in general only real downside is you can't track how many hours you've played

Used to be a huge problem but steam is fine now or at least a lot better than it used to be

If you can, then steam is probably better for jsp users... since you can use fg to buy steam $

i dont like steam cuz ive had issues when steam goes down and then the patches they send to steam can be kinda nutty at times depending what they change.
But why use steam if you can use the standalone client i never understood that?
