it's quite overwhelming. I'm on act 10 and I haven't had a gear upgrade since ~act 4. Buying stuff seems like such a massive hassle aswell, is it like diablo 2 trading? I really liked the auction house of d3 tbh.

Then after that, i'm not sure what I'm meant to be buying, the build says buy gear with this and needs 6 linked blue sockets, but all the stuff he's linked in his build has random amounts of different colour sockets?

Currently stuck in act 10 following a build (arc witch) getting 1 shot by everything

path of exile has an official trade site (https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Delirium) which helps alot in trading, easier and safer than jsp tbh (jsp has other advantages ofc)

edit: im playing again after 7 years not playing (had only 3 acts, much has changed), im at act 9 atm 1 shotting a whole screen of mobs with a spellslinger witch (freeze pulse + icebolt with GMP and artic breath)

I've been looking at that, but not sure how it works? I message someone in game, but they've got trades listed from like a month ago.

when I started out I had to basically play more google than the actual game since they don't tell you shit.

you can check if theyre online or afk (or even offline, if you change Online only to Any), click on whisper button and ctrl + V in chat, they usually reply instantly

yeah, also vendor recipes helps alot on getting orbs

orbs are the currency right?

I don't even understand how to find the gear I need myself, or how crafting works there's so much shit XD

this game takes a long time to learn
its good ur following a guide but i might suggest a tankier character so you have more room for learning errors

already like 20 hours into this one, even finding the right build was so hard, because they don't tell you what char to pick at the beginning. They just label it as the first acension pick, which makes no sense to new players XD

this game is not for weak gamers and it takes a long time to really learn everything a long long time
i been playing years and i still learning the game also constantly changing new skills new meta every 3 months so a lot of ur learned shit goes out the window sometimes

but i do suggest a more tanky character like facebreaker cyclone glad or something so you can actually do harder content without getting 1 shotted all the time
this games devs dont know how to scale difficulty beyond just adding a bunch of damage so getting 1 shotted all the time never really goes away
