Can someone look at my necromancer, and advise immediate upgrades/quality of life improvements that won't currently break the bank? (Tree doesn't seem to be updated in profile for some reason)

Or should I just be grinding out maps and just 'play better'?.. I am new to POE as a whole.

Damage doesn't seem to be a problem, but I do die fairly easily.

Get a rare amulet with life (80+)
You could also change your tree for more life, such as getting rid of "leadership" and the nodes leading to it and respec to life wheel.
Could also go Mind over Matter for more ehp.
Cap your resistances (75, or even up to 109 so you can ignore -res curses).

Also your current empower (lv 1) does nothing other than raises mana cost.

do the triple hitpoints build, your are a witch, not a marauder-ranger with low options

AKA, get the life-es notes (8 of them)
and get Mind over matter (MoM)
then you get 3k life+1k mana+3k es

also, where is your phantasm support gem?

6link melee zombies and 6link melee skeletons
Double melee makes them block eithother and make them function for 150% instead of 200%


would make skeletons become skeleton mages, and link gmp-phantasm to it, spell echo
makes your zombies hit harder, since agro is there sooner

then you can use agression cwdt gems, like SrS or arc or blade vortex
