Any recommendations for skill paths? Playing maurderer and that shit looks overwhelming af.

You might wanna follow one of the builds until you get familiar with the tree and skills.

Also a lot of builds include a 'PoB' pastebin link. It's a program called Path of Building that allows you to import and export builds, see their skill trees, items and damage. Highly recommended.

It is mostly the same as d2, enough stats to wear gear and deal enough damage, rest into hp.

look at videos and find a skill that looks cool or pretty

for the passive tree instead of looking at the thousand different nodes just look at it one level at a time

level 3 i can get either life or melee damage/armor or strength. then i can see in 6 levels i can get this big one for 20% increased damage with attack speed

then look for builds other people make and follow their path and try to understand why they went to certain areas of it
