i have known of PoE for years, just never got into it .. is the game worth playing currently? i've read that if you dont play a witch the game isn't worth it or as fun since melee is shitty rn?
also if i start a new character do i play standard or synthesis?

i dont even know where to start on this game

nvm that skill tree is for some no life nerd that has enough time for gaming that he has no job or wife

well okay so at the moment: the game is not really worth playing, its empty af due to the current league being the worst thing ever, melee is shit, only occultist (type of witch) and trickster (type of shadow) work, and theres a skill called winter orb, which is 2 orders of magnitude above everything else whatever league you start now, you wont find many people

they said how in the next patch in like 2 weeks they will fix melee and league seems simpler and all, but i dont think it will really change the meta, except they will probably nerf winter orb. my guess is that melee will still be shit though

this is kinda correct, due to their "free to play game as a service" shit model, they kinda do a lot to "encourage" people to play a loooot including but not limited to purposefully making trading extremely hard with no auction house in sight, making league challenges that require you to grind a lot, now even making items have experience so even more grind etc...

yeah im good on all that, i'd probably rather play diablo 3 tbh

ive asked multiple people and twitch streamers and have been recommended not to play, because the current state of the game, and that its unbalanced and takes tons of time ...

So why are you asking here?
The game takes as much time as you put into it.

The passive tree is very simple to understand and there are so many guides to hold your hand that you shouldn't wet your pants m8.
