not sure , but got the ascendancy skill from templer got buffed? each totem increase the dmg now instead of -% ?

Unless you're a high defense build that can take advantage of the regeneration getting the perm arcane surge with damage per monster killed recently, and power and endurance charge generation is better.

We already have a gem that drops 2 totems +gives us extra ones. This only gives us a little damage per totem and life regen.

In PoB you still get more damage by using Ritual of Awaking then using the perm arcane surge option (arcane blessing)

I compared it with my freezing pulse lvl 95 Hiero on standard
with ritual of awaking: average hit 151712, dps 466808
with arcane blessing: average hit 149482, dps 459945.
And you will loss mana and life regeneration with arcane blessing and -10% mana before life from Divine guidance which is a life saver in high end game.

And by using the new gem placing extra totems en giving extra ones you have to give up another damage gem. And that is not a little decrease in damage.

So Ritual of Awaking is youre best choice despite the 3 totems in stead of 4. And it is still viable. It was and still is.
Used it for 3 league's now as starter.

That really isnt much more pob damage in comparison. But like I said, it will be better if you can take advantage of the regeneration.

I think the real problem with ritual of awakening in its current state is trying to max it out. You cant max out your totems without multiple totems and it seems like a waste to have two instances of dropping 2x totems when they dont stack. So you have a choice of dropping multiple totems for -1 totem for a super high damage gem or you can have 6-7 totems with a shield and armor to max ritual of awakening.

Personally, I wouldnt drop the gem unless I have a shield. I play totem builds with a minimum of 4 totems. And therein comes the problem of using ritual of awakening in its current state or not. It comes down to current gearing more than anything for me.

if you have Ritual of awakening combined with multiple totem support gem, (Skills that would Summon a Totem Summon two Totems instead)
do you summon 2,3 or 4 totems per 1click?


You and your Totems Regenerate 1% of Life per second per Totem

so you need 15 totem hierophant to make hierophant,
if only want 4 totems, other class is better

I use legacy chin sol and frostferno with +2 gem corruption. Elemental hit. Each totem give me 140k dps when fully charged up. Multiple totem is better for mapping but overall dps is lower.
