Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with Vaal gems. I have difficulties to understand/compare with regular gems. Indeed it is currupted so it cannot be leveled, but how should I evaluate the drops I get? Some pattern? If I have Vaal arc and another Vaal arc, are they the same?

they can be leveled, but you cant add quality to them (because corrupted items cant be modified). vaal orb'ing a level 20 gem has a chance of making it level 21.

vaal gems give you the regular skill + the vaal version of that skill on the same gem. they should both be on your skill bar to select.



not sure what you mean by that. all gems are the same if they are the same level with same quality. if you want quality on a vaal gem either find/buy one with quality on it (they can be found in chests or certain areas), or corrupt a regular gem that already has quality.

I am talking here only about vaal gems.. Can I vaal orb gem which is already vaal?

The second question was if all vaal orbs are the same (imagine you have 10x vaal arc). I have hard time to figure out if I just found Charsi food or valuable gem.

7x vaal gem + 1 sacrifice piece sold to vendor = 1 vaal orb

so even the junk ones are worth keeping for the vendor recipe.

In the example you posted.. you can level them to level 20 still. However you cannot increase the quality and you cannot vaal it again to try and get a lvl 21 once you do lvl it to 20.
Based on the going rate for a 13% vaal blade vortex, I would just keep that one and use it with other quality gems towards the GCP vendor recipe.

Take a regular gem to a double corruption chamber.

That pretty much answers all your questions.

Level it first of course.

Or you can just buy whatever gem you want.
