First char just died at 50 to syndicate guys. How often do you guys die at the start of league? Also any items you guys recommend buying to make life easier around that level?

tbh I suggest softcore for this league :D

anyway a few tips that might help you survive:

JANUS is a bitch, avoid him if you can. Afaik he deals phys damage which cant be evaded/dodged/blocked. Not sure if spell dodge or spell block work.
the spiky attack from the ground can offscreen
try to keep him in jail, unranked or remove him from the syndicate

IT THAT FLED
heavy chaos damage spells, can offscreen. Get chaos res (also very useful for incursion chaos spitters so very good for this league)

try to keep your intervention with just 1-2 syndicate members and no allies (no green ropes) so you don't get insta gibbed suddenly
fortification spawns super strong mobs until you destroy one of the doors so try to kill the door asap before the adds overwhelm you

Thank you! Those are exactly the issues and what killed me. I had 3 members pop out of a portal and gank me. I thought getting rid of members did something different so I never did that.

yeah the mechanics might be a bit confusing at first

interrogating gives intelligence for the meter, puts people in prison and de-ranks them so do this for the ones you want to avoid
executing gives +1 rank so it makes stuff harder but you get better loot in the end
bargain can be kinda what ever. Some make stuff more difficult and some easier

also btw Tora also deals chaos damage over time which hurts a lot so again, chaos res is your friend

Armor + endurance charges granite flask etc...make sure to have instant life pots too

If i feel im getting hit too hard i might do a lower level zone for a few runs to see why
