I was planning on starting with Blade Vortex again this league, as it somehow managed to avoid the Banhammer, but was thinking about the viability of Occultist over Elementalist. There are little to no written guides for an Occultist variant for BV, but nevertheless thought why not run it by you guys to get some external input.

Is Occultist a viable & competitive alternative to Elementalist? Is it going to require an exponentially higher amount of gear to compete? Should I just go Arc Traps instead?

Elementalist does not have any competition, there is no other option.

if u like slower clear, lower dps, and lower aoe, go occulist.
