But I know diablo 3 when it released to console got modded to hell and back.

if you can actually use mouse/kb for it that puts it on a different level than xbox, but you're still dealing with what is basically a low clocked bulldozer cpu for a game like PoE... that is gonna have its hitches for sure.

xbox poe is a damn joke until they also support mouse and keyboard, PoE is a mechanically intensive game from the gameplay to managing millions of item drops to even using the stash efficiently, a controller is going to mean playing at a glacier's pace. Also last time i checked you were stick with the default filter which means massive eye strain in my experience. I don't think ps4 has gotten around this either so, unless you intend to play hc and never even reach maps or play a slow af build or only play in short sessions, I strongly suggest against console in general.

PS4 actually runs a lot of games better than most PCs out there. I know it ran fortnite better than my PC with a 1080 TI. The ps4 pro is just built for gaming.

The only way I'd play PoE now is if it was through console tbh. I don't wanna push another 5-10 100s a league and get banned after every league lol.
