is Poe secrets of atlas poe 2?

Im trying to find my answer on google and some site refer to it as poe 2 but there is a diff official website


Trying to get the version people play at the moment... no idea if i download the 2 or the 1....

Secrets of the Atlas is the expansion for poe 1.. in which most ppl are playing right now

Path Of Exile 2 is a closed beta type game, you need to buy it to play and its less popular than the current ladder
and will generally be less popular than fresh ladders until it launches for free, at which point its anyone's guess.

More than likely if the genre continues a new company will pick up the ball and run it down the field from here,
Diablo 2 -> Path of Exile -> ???

I'm excited for whatever that new, unknown ARPG of the future is but in the meantime the Secrets of Atlas ladder
of the Mercenaries league update of Path of Exile is the current ladder season people are playing. D2R doesn't do
too bad on these forums either.
