serious poll for a change! first two answers are what i guess should be the reasons. but i cant see how its fun to grind same things over and over 8h a day, and i cant see how there is any sense of achievement, because while yes you can create your own build, that build is going to be shit compared to what everyone else simply copies from their favorite streamer

playing it for gains is also questionable at best in the recent few leagues due to massive inflation
only for competition i could understand because as much as pvp is shit, you can compete at how fast you get something or somewhere



personally, my reasons in the last 7-8 years were creating hideouts and funny looking chars, i havent actually had fun with the game itself at all so i honestly need help to understand how people find this game fun

I stopped playing years ago when the game became a messy clusterfuck tbh. I'm a dumb casual boomer and that's too much for me. Though maybe I'd still play if I could actually chat in game without getting muted all the time for questionable reasons. Oh and GGG sucks and worships streamers way too much it's cringe

but more importantly the game is absolutely not free. you are heavily gimped unless you pay for certain stash tabs, making the game unplayable. if you dont trust me, make a new acc and try it "free to play/game as a service" is a business model, and it works damn well due to how peoples brains are wired. you THINK the decision is put on you, but it isnt, as you are progressively pushed into spending by using carefully implemented psychology tricks (psychologists are now being hired en masse by gaming companies, this is why). and lemme tell you brother, that is way less ethical than the "pay to own the game" model we had 20 years ago. pls dont fall for that brother

also the problem is not about controlling yourself, its about someone controlling you. i cant see how you are defending ggg for this and instead attacking people who simply dont wanna deal with it. its one thing to mute someone who uses a macro to spam the living shit out of a channel and ruins ppls experience, but completely different to mute someone for saying "trump 2024" in global 1 now i dont wanna gaslight, but if someone cant handle normal talk in a global chat, maybe it just isnt for him. if you cant handle that someone said kurwa jebany, close the chat and move on instead of ruining the experience for others by having someone police their speech
