I think the problem here is people are misinterpreting what botting in this game and botting in diablo2 was, and thinking that its just the same thing.
In diablo 2 a bot could do literally everything from creating a character from scratch, gear a character and clear all content in the game. Not so here.
Your characters need to be fully geared to go kill monsters, they cannot switch gems or gear [that I've seen] And there are certainly not I repeat NOT programmed players clearing full t16 100% delirious maps. They're doing cruel ledge.
Trade bots are a bigger issue for sure. Which is a good thing and a bad thing imo. If im looking for a certain Item or a huge stack of a certain currency, 90% of the time now its going to end up trading with a trade bot because GGG refuses to put an actual trading system in the game. However trade bots are pretty easy to program and they just sit in your h/o pissing out currency, they dont run anywhere or activate any skills.
bots just run basic shit but it adds up quickly when you multiply it by lets just say 100 bots in a farm.
Lets say all the drops in a zone equate to just only 2c worth of drops, that's roughly 200c in lets say, 5 mins since it's a bot, that's 2400c of currency an hour, that then gets muled off to the trade bot, which starts flipping to exalts and selling on various websites.
There are def bot farms in the multiple hundreds, and i'm sure some extremes go as far as a thousand.
there are def complex bots out there, that run maps, not t16 del prob, but they are mostly just 1-3 people coding and running the farm themselves, that's why it's pretty undetected.
