I don't think it was the outside pressure, it was more of the fact that their algorithm for rng drop, item scaling
And rng rolls was so bad that people spent more time trading than playing in their eyes (all the og people know how bad the drop rate was). But I mean what arpg doesn't do that? D2 And Poe has websites that sell for RMT, it just wasn't integrated.

Having an automated auction house would help so much more than spamming people for 30 minutes to buy 900+ chromos or something. I imagine it would also relieve server load from all the trade bots as well

with everything else in every game.. there was some people who liked the AH and some that didn't

personally I didn't mind it either way, was nice to bid on stuff or get what you want

i have no serious problem with trade

they could introduce faster direkt trade for things like maps and currency

but all "automatic" trade would make it easier for all these faggot flippers and price fixers, so -> no

The bigger problem in my opinion would be people spamming the trade API with all sorts of 3rd party tool with billions of requests it couldn't handle.

they have a trade system on consoles, 0 excuse to not have it on pc period.
