The thing GGG trying to accomplish is a shift from gems/stats into items.
The +2 isnt gone its in the helmet and not depending anymore on doing labs. Which in my opinion is a good thing.
Skellies are strong builds and upcoming nerves will not change it. Only next season even more dependency on using cluster jewels.
Minions are not ruined at all. But again thats my opinion.

but wouldnt shifting power from gems and stats to items make grinding for items even more important and char creation less :unsure: ? i miss the d2 days where all my items needed to do was to give me full res and hit the breakpoints :cry:

"Minions" are always going to be good especially early on and scale high with investment. The problem is you can make builds with items like poets pen, icestom whatever that item is, iron commander and a ton of other spell and attack item builds and absolutely stomp the game. You try to make a build with a minion based item only build and youll be lucky to do red maps with it.

Animated gaurdians cannot use bows to take advantage of jewel that allows ranged weapons. If they could, maybe an item that makes animated weapons stronger with the drawback of only having animated weapons would be more interesting/viable.

How is this delusion again?

well your statement implies that you can use zero investment with poets pen, icestom whatever that item is, iron commander ETC and stomp the game..

minion builds have always been good league starters because they are extremely strong with ZERO investment, as they got a huge amount of power from ascendancy / gem levels / passive tree

That statement simply imples stomping the game is possible with those items. At any level.

Chains of command especially does not have that level of scaleability in its current state, and most other minion items like it got nerfed this patch. Maybe maw of mischief can still do high% feared, but chains of command and soulwrest definitely cant.

losing the +3 to socketed from helmet is pretty big for minion survivability and damage.
considering they are also lowering the level of summoned minions as well as lowering their life and damage
minion builds are hugely socket starved as well, to the point they almost have to have unset rings.
I think the big spit in the face was making the +2 node into unholy might.. which is only good for physical minions (which usually are going to be using brutality anyway)
