hard agree, it's a game of knowledge. there's some very bad misinformation being pushed here that bots aren't a problem or even don't exist. they exist in large numbers
Only trade bots! Those come in 2 types. Trade bots that let you execute trades while you're AFK, and trade bots that scrape the API and snipe items listed below market value. The latter tends to be
way more profitable then any hypothetical farming bot could ever be. Try listing an expensive item for way lower than market value - you'll get a flood of PMs, and i'm sure many of those are trade bots. Still though, this has a negligible effect on the economy, since it doesn't create any new currency via illegitimate means, it just re-circulates existing currency.
If you snoop around communities where programs are circulated, you can see for yourself! Bots that play the game for you may have been in circulation years ago, but they're now old, outdated, and earn players insta-bans. It's why most of them are listed explicitly as free and detectable. Lots of people ask, and they're all told the same thing.
Think about it. why run a bot that's going to get you banned, and even if it didn't would earn marginal amounts of currency compared to a bot that isn't able to be detected like a trade bot that makes a lot more currency? They're 90% scraping and making API requests, which isn't done in-game to begin with, the only in-game actions are... basically simple macros.
No matter what alternate reality you're subscribing to, it's an absolute farcry from the abysmal state botting is currently in in D2. Feel free to PM links or anything! I'd be interested in learning more about this. Otherwise, i'm convinced you're all talking out of your ass in standard d2jsp fashion.
