this is the population of steam players from the last 4 leagues, betrayal, synthesis, legion and blight. as you can see, betrayal had the highest peak at around 125k (meaning a lot of people wanted to play it) and a very gradual drop (meaning it was an enjoyable league so people kept playing it). now it did have a perfect start due to the diablo immortal controversy, but still! synthesis has a high peak, but a steep drop, meaning people gave it a chance but didnt really enjoy it, which is completely a normal phenomenon because that league was shit next was legion, good start, good retention, but the minimum is really low, indicating a possible burnout, again normal because every league that gives "too much" so to say, burns people out a lot.

now look at that pathetic last peak of barely 75k that is blight league! shit start, shit retention as well, and overall 40% lower start than the previous leagues, which is a baaad sign

and there are two arguments against this, both easily debunked:

1) not everyone plays on steam so this doesnt mean much. debunked by the fact that if you know the bare minimum about statistics, you will know that in most cases even a sample of 1% will say everything you need to know about the entire population, providing the sample was taken according to the rules. and this qualifies because i think more than half of all poe players play on steam. but even if it was 5%, it would be more than enough. and,

2) wow classic was the reason less people played poe. debunked by the fact that this is simply too much of a drop. even betrayal, that had the absolute perfect start, only had about 20% more players than the league before it, even though poe was on everyones radar back then. diablo immortal failed hard, every single blizzard fan was like "fuck this, imma play poe now". poe was the shit. yet still only 20%

Imo game like PoE has always a lot of increases and decreases of player base simply because it is not designed to be played 365/365. So I would be very patient about talking about decreasing trend yet. Let´s see how is 3.9, they promise a lot of new content, so it should go significantly up, hopefully long-term.

as i said in previous posts i practically begged them to unlock the account with no luck.



i used d2jsp with PoE for quite a while too and there was no problem until thursday.



yeah, there's no way i can justify playing again after losing all of that gear+a few level 100's and like 400 bucks in MTX, not including ones i got through challenges.

my biggest issue is how smug they were when they told me to make a new account. their support is super nice when they're helping you out with an MTX issue that's going to make them money, but they sure as hell were acting like d-bags when it came to discussing my account.



haha, right? every jsp player i traded with was decked out in MTX. there's literally like 20-45 people trading after the first month and a 1/2 of the league, and like 80-120ish early league. there's no way the small jsp population comes close to being as harmful as actual RMT sites and the bots that are everywhere.

Sorry my man, gonna miss you. That being said, I am not playing due to the China / Hong Kong situation going on. I uninstalled all my Blizzard games and finding out that Tencent is the majority share holder in GGG didn't help the cause. Come play Apex Legends with me sometime.

I am only one man. When a company values go beyond that of the people, it is up to the people to use their purchasing/money power to tell the company to fix themselves. And most likely Blizzard doesn't care cuz they are making more money from China than they are losing. But at least a statement was made.
