How would you rate yourself as a PoE player? From what I can tell you seemed to be average, if not below average type of player...
And from what I've been hearing, the average class atm is having heavy troubles dealing with the forsaken masters, cause they don't stack proper defenses...
The system is easy, execute each one, starting from the 2 star / 1star ones fist, Bribe / betray the 3 star ones, keep rivalry to a minimum, kill everything, without dying. The syndicates themselves rewards HUGE loot, from XP, currency drops to an AMAZING amount of maps, and other valuables.
When you are comparing the mastermind, How many times in previous leagues, have you killed chayula/ Red aspect beast? / delve Aul Bosses or simply uber elder etc?
I feel like the mastermind is at the correct time gate, I roughly get 1, or 1.2 master minds per session?
The new benches are insane, There's a good too many few things it can do, once you've figured it out.
Few days ago, I had an lorweave on WITH fortify, and somehow, I still kept dying, I switched to an armor setup, now I have 29k armor, and +16 chaos res, these petty syndicates can't even tickle me anymore on t16 maps.
I would say that I am a slightly above average player (despite your below average assertion :D). I've logged about 1500 hours and have been playing since Breach. I'm at the point now where I design my own viable builds without a guide and typically steer away from the meta. I am definitely not pro but i'm certainly not a noob. I think my experience puts me in a unique position to have an in depth understanding of the game while also understanding what it's like to be a new player. In my opinion, I think the interrogation feature is far too convoluted. Each decision you make (bargain, imprison, betray, execute) has an unclear/unpredictable consequence and requires way too much time reach the safe house. I'm not saying I want a "pointy-clicky," mindless mechanic (like pictures on a Waffle House menu) but I would prefer something that is a little more user friendly.
My build is just your typical league starter. I'm running a crit based Ice Crash Jugg. I'm currently level 90 with 6K HP, 100+ uncapped res, leech/regen, and endurance charges for days. My damage is mediocre at best but is definitely geared to handle most of the punishment the game can dish out. As I progress through the atlas, I find myself avoiding the syndicate more and more. Maybe I'm below average after all
