2. OFCOURSE WoW expansion does affect player base since big % of ppl who play PoE are ppl who play WoW (my entire guild in PoE are WoW players thats 30-40 ppl and most of them are gearing for raid that comes out next week, and will start PoE in a week-2 weeks time.



Not sure if you realized most ppl that play games like PoE play it for a month then quit, thats how this genre works. Its very easy to skip a season if theres smth as big as WoW expansion going on and that doesnt mean they lost intrest in game.

Maybe instead of being stupid on forum try play the game and see how ppl feel about it.

oh its true that peak doesnt mean jack shit, retention means much more, but retention is even worse for poe than peak when a game with leagues like poe starts to die off, it usually first loses player retention (poe lost that about 2 leagues ago as you can see by the steam graphs if you look at the green surface below the player curve) and only then after a few leagues the peak drops. when the peak starts dropping, it means the player base is starting to collapse because the retention isnt enough to keep the active players in, while the peak shows that there are no more players gained

as for warcraft, if it did have a significant impact you could see it on the chart when the expansion hit ! but all you can see is a pretty uniform graph for the last month or so, with no drop when the wow expansion released, so its insignificant! i guess we can always wait a few weeks for that raid of yours to end and see if poe gets more players

and i got this entire conclusion because i did play the game for months! i left because it started to get boring, so instead of being angry try being logical for a change !

peaks last month were actually 10~20k, which is not 1% but more like 15~25%, thats quite a lot for literally no change to be observed but i mean, literally zero change. just a normal uniform graph that slightly and constantly goes down each day, with same daily variations !

well, i guess you were about as right about me as i was about your buying mtx except you tried harder

as for the game stats: flashback started on 3rd or 4th august, as you can clearly see on the chart by spiking from 15k to 32k, so flashback kinda brought the players back. about 7~10 days later, the peaks returned to what they were before, again no surprise about anything there ! so in short, warcraft expansion changed next to nothing, while flashback raised the player numbers by 110%
