People are idiots this acquisition is good news
ye, like I said... nothing changes. poe will keep steady growth, plan to go from 114 to 130 employees. less stress on company, more financial freedom and leeway. they've never had the chance to re-visit things in poe that needs updating(let's say just for one example, UI, like customization of it) over producing new content every league cycle... now they will be able to allocate some resources to that, and allocate more resources in general, up the production quality further.
ppl like to talk doomsday shit - in most cases don't even believe what they're saying, it's just for amusement. all of this will blow over very soon. when incursion releases in 10 days you will have forgotten about this and enjoy the shit out of the league as usual.
also ggg deserve any and all success imo, they started with 3 of them from a fucking garage in 2006, and been working very hard since then to make poe from a crappy noname d2 clone to the go-to definitive game in the genre. all well deserved. sometimes you have to make important decisions. imagine if they hadn't changed anything and kept the game that same ultra-hardcore niche it started out as. lol, they would have gone bankrupt years ago, with the same few hundred moneyless nerds playing. and that's the point. casuals bring the $ and the numbers, they made a good decision for sake of growth, yet it's still poe, it's still a great, fun, and challenging game. tencent deal will allow for more growth once again and further improve poe, without compromising its integrity.
